Twiggs appoint new works manager

Craig Anthony

Craig Anthony to oversee Derbyshire-based steel firm’s steelstock and fabrication division

MATLOCK-based steel company Twiggs have appointed Craig Anthony as their new works manager to oversee the firm’s steelstock and fabrication division.

Mr Anthony joins Twiggs with more than 19 years’ experience in the steel trade, from starting his apprenticeship on the shop floor at the age of 16 to skilled roles as a plater, welder and fabrication manager.

Twiggs say his in-depth knowledge and expertise will be a valuable addition to their steel team and continues the company’s commitment to employing experienced staff who can support customers with invaluable advice and knowledge.

Commenting on his new position, Mr Anthony said: ‘I am enjoying this new challenge, it’s so diverse at Twiggs. One moment I’m talking to builders about structural orders, the next I am working with the special projects manager at Chatsworth House on a bespoke project.

‘The variety is what attracted me to the company, as well as its long-established reputation for providing high-quality steelwork with genuine customer service.

‘The steel workshop here is fantastic – we can do things that other companies can’t. I’m looking forward to helping Twiggs continue to flourish and grow, both in terms of steel stock and fabrication.’

Mr Anthony currently works alongside works manager Alan Boden, who has been with Twiggs for more than 30 years but is due to retire in Spring 2017.

Established in 1905, family-run Twiggs boast the widest range of steelstock under one roof in Derbyshire and offer a quick turnaround on cut steel for customers who require rapid delivery.

The company produces a wide range of CE-marked bespoke steel structures and engineering items, typically for quarries, railways, factories and agriculture.
