Transport Support unveil newly upgraded HVDS unit

High-voltage overhead cable detection system

Company launches latest version of its high-voltage overhead cable detection system

TRANSPORT Support have launched their latest high-voltage overheated cable detection system – the HVDS Mk2 – which is a further development of the company’s highly successful detection systems.

Incorporating the same high-voltage detection technological features as the TSafe vehicle safety system, the new HVDS now comes with a signal strength meter to give the operator an indication of proximity to a detected overhead power line.

The HVDS Mk2 is designed to prevent vehicles and machinery with variable height from coming into contact with high voltage overhead power lines. The system can sense the presence of overhead power cables from up to 100m away warning the operator of any potential danger.

The system consists of a cab-mounted detection antenna and an in-cab audio/visual warning unit. Supplied as a standalone unit (11-32V) or as an integrated part of Transport Support’s vehicle safety systems, it can be easily fitted to a range of machinery including tipper vehicles, excavators, telehandlers, platforms and cranes.
