Thompsons to showcase a variety of products at TIP-Ex 2015

Thompsons tipper

Exhibits from the tipper bodybuilder will include a curved floor Multimaster body and Loadmaster Lite

TIPPER bodybuilder manufacturers Thompsons will be showing a wide range of products at TIP-Ex 2015, in Harrogate, from 28-30 May. According to the tipper specialists, a combination of ongoing record levels of market demand and the implications of the latest Whole Vehicle Type Approval legislation means that more customers than ever are now choosing Thompsons bodies for their tippers.

The company will be displaying a new 8x4 Scania belonging to Yuill & Dodds which features a steel curved floor Multimaster – a type of body that is said to be suitable for many types of work while offering cost-effective cleaning and easy load ejection. Also on show will be a new Volvo tipper featuring Thompsons’ popular Loadmaster Lite bodywork, working in conjunction with an Edbro CX15 tipping gear.

For the heaviest of tipper tasks, a Thompsons full-spec Loadmaster with double skinned construction and four corner posts, mounted on an MAN eight-wheeler chassis and using a Hyva FC137 tipping gear, will be displayed.

Visitors to the Thompsons stand will also be able to find out on all the latest developments in tipper legislation, particularly Whole Vehicle Type Approval.

Thompsons sister company Charlton Bodies of Dover will be showcasing a Volvo 6x4 chassis belonging to Kernow Mixers of Cornwall. This truck is fitted with a lightweight steel SuperLite tipper body working in conjunction with a front-end Penta tipping gear.

Another Charlton exhibit will be an 8x4 Volvo FMX owned by Hills Aggregates of Swindon. The high-spec tipper is fitted with a 15 cubic metre SuperLite body featuring a raked rear end and an air-operated tailgate. Additional features include: electric sheeting; side guards; nearside electronic side sensors; and multiple cameras with recordable hard drive.

Also on show will be a Scania 8x4 tipper/grab equipped with a flat-floored steel GrabLite body, Palfinger/Epsilon crane and underfloor Edbro tipper gear.

Thompsons director Simon Shields commented: ’In 2015 our company is in a stronger market position than ever. Our stands in are not just for exhibiting a wide range of products, but even more so to welcome customers and visitors alike so that we can fully demonstrate the unique level of our resources and capabilities.’
