Thompsons plan biggest-ever Tip-Ex line-up

Paymaster tipping trailer

New Paymaster tipping trailer and Thompsons Total among the key attractions at the 2016 show

LAUNCHED at the start of the year, Thompsons all-new Paymaster tipping trailer is expected be among the highlights of this year’s Tip-Ex show, which takes place in Harrogate from 2–4 June.

Being shown in the livery of Hurt (Plant Hire) Ltd, the Paymaster is purpose-designed for carrying stone and aggregates. Offering a payload of around 28 tonnes, the all-steel Paymaster completes the Thompsons tipper range.

Now, for the first time ever, the company offers tipper operators complete bodywork solutions for trucks covering the whole market from 7.5 to 44 tonnes gcw.

In addition to the Paymaster, there will also be a wide range of Thompsons rigid tippers around the show, including five examples from sister company Charlton.

However, perhaps the company’s biggest news at Tip-Ex will be the introduction of ‘Thompsons Total’ – a fully integrated after-sales activity that brings together all of Thompsons’ various elements of service and parts support.

Taking a clear lead from the way truck chassis manufacturers deliver their nationwide customer back-up, Thompsons Total will be the first such scheme from a UK tipper bodybuilder.

Continuing expansion of field service, enhanced levels of parts availability and further developments to Thompsons Internet-based ‘eParts’ programme are the key elements of Thompsons Total.

Finally, Thompsons have recently opened a new £500,000 shotblast and paint facility at their third factory in Blackburn, and a similar facility is due to be installed in Croydon this summer.

Thompsons say the real benefit of these investments, for customers, is that the company now has complete quality control over the entire production process, from the first cutting of steel sheet through to delivery of a fully finished vehicle that is immediately ready for work.
