Tarmac Topmix choose Komatsu

Tarmac Topmix of Wolverhampton have recently taken delivery of a Komatsu WA90-3 Handy wheel loader for use at their concrete batching plant at Alexandra Dock in Grimsby.

The machine is equipped with a 1.25mü bucket and, as well as general yard and stockpiling duties, carries out load-and-carry operations between storage bays and the plant's feed hopper, into which it loads sand and stone.

The WA90 is fitted with a single, power-assisted multi-function lever which is used to operate both the front-end equipment and the forward/reverse hydrostatic drive. Powered by a Komatsu four-cylinder low-emission diesel engine developing 55.1kW at 2,500 rev/min, the unit weighs approximately 5.6 tonnes, has a dumping height of 2,625mm and an outside turning circle of less than 4.5m.
