Tarmac strengthen National Contracting team

Richard Vine returns to Tarmac to take up appointment as National Contracting director for West region

TARMAC have appointed Richard Vine as National Contracting regional director to oversee highways operations in the West region.

Mr Vine, who began his career with Tarmac on the company’s graduate programme in 1985, rejoins the company from Aggregate Industries where he was national construction solutions director. Prior to this he worked for Bardon Aggregates as area director – Central Region.

In his new role at Tarmac, Mr Vine will manage the firm’s full range of highways surfacing and maintenance work for the region, and report to Paul Fleetham, managing director of Tarmac National Contracting and Middle East.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Vine said: ‘This is an exciting opportunity and it is a nice feeling to be back at the company I started out with. I‘m looking forward to helping Tarmac build upon the strength of their existing surfacing and maintenance services, and driving the business forward in the region.’

Andy Rowley, Tarmac National Contracting director, added: ‘We’re delighted to have Richard as part of our team. His vast experience in highways maintenance and surfacing will help to consolidate our current position and help us to unlock new commercial opportunities.

‘In a challenging and competitive market, he knows what it takes to provide the efficient, value-added services our customers expect.’
