Tarmac set their sights on the future

Tarmac graduate recruits

Record graduate recruitment programme set to take on 37 university leavers in 2016

TARMAC are recruiting their biggest graduate intake to date, with 37 university leavers set to join the company’s nationwide programme next year.

The company is offering a variety of roles across its business, with each graduate position lasting for two years. The scheme has been designed to build business skills and provide graduates with a real insight into the specialism of their choice – be it in general management, technical and engineering, operations management or finance.

Commenting on the programme, Tarmac chief executive Cyrille Ragoucy said: ‘The UK construction industry needs talented and highly-skilled people to help deliver the next generation of infrastructure supporting our economy and quality of life well into the future.

‘To address this need, Tarmac are offering a range of exciting opportunities to young people. By supporting their development and enabling them to have successful careers in our company, these graduates will make a real contribution to the UK’s future.’

Tarmac recently welcomed 30 new starters in a variety of roles as part of their 2015 graduate scheme.

Shamus Shakil, a business and HR graduate from Birmingham City University who recently joined Tarmac on a graduate programme within Human Resources, said: ‘This scheme really appealed to me as it gives me the opportunity to work across a range of projects as well as take up placements with different teams and apply my knowledge in a hands-on working environment.’

He added: ‘Tarmac are also involved in many high-profile, instantly recognizable projects across the UK, which is great because I can see the real contribution that I’m making to the UK’s infrastructure.’

In addition to their graduate recruitment programme, Tarmac have an annual commitment to offer around 80 apprenticeship opportunities across the UK, each lasting between one and five years.
