SPAL expand team to serve off-highway market

Russel Hadden

Russel Hadden appointed at business development manager for aftermarket sales in off-highway sector

AS the off-highway machinery becomes the next target area for reduced emissions under the new Euro VI standards, axial fans and blowers specialists SPAL UK have appointed Russel Hadden as business development manager to handle aftermarket sales in the sector.

With more than 15 years’ experience in engineering components sales, Mr Hadden (pictured) says he is keen to promote the aspects of SPAL fans which contribute towards lower emissions and fuel savings in heavy machinery, particularly the conversion of hydraulic cooling systems to arrays of electric fans.

His brief is broad, as SPAL fans and blowers can be found in a wide variety of off-highway vehicles, including construction, mining, environmental and agricultural machines.

‘This is a very exciting time to be pushing forward in the off-highway market. Although Euro VI is currently focused on exhausts, manufacturers in general are looking to reduce the size and weight of major components,’ said Mr Hadden.

‘As emissions legislation tightens, advances in peripheral components such as cooling fans are likely to become more important. SPAL are already developing more efficient and lighter-weight products, which puts us in an excellent position to help the sector comply with the standards.’

Commenting on the appointment, Matthew Morris, managing director of SPAL UK, said:  ‘Russel is a welcome addition to the team. As SPAL are already a major supplier of OEMs in the off-highway sector, he will help us in our mission to promote the genuine parts message in the aftermarket, as any component failure is likely to be extremely costly.’
