Siemens MD joins board of IIT

Juergen Maier becomes non-exec director of North East-based minerals processing technology company

MINERALS processing and engineering and technology development company International Innovative Technologies Ltd (IIT) have strengthened their management team with one of the UK’s leading industrialists joining their board.

Juergen Maier (pictured on the right), managing director of Siemens Industry Sector in the UK and Ireland – a leading global supplier of manufacturing automation and control technologies – is joining the board of the Gateshead-based company, which specializes in the design, precision engineering and manufacture of a range of high-output mills, classifiers and cyclones.

Mr Maier, who in his role with Siemens Industry Sector is responsible for a £600 million operation employing around 2,000 people, will be joining IIT as a non-executive director to help with the international market development of the company’s range of products and new technologies.

Commenting on the appointment Tom Wilkinson of IIT (centre of picture) said: ‘We are delighted to be able to welcome someone of the calibre of Juergen Maier to our board. His unrivalled engineering sector experience in international markets will be a major asset to the company’s continued development and product introduction programme.

‘There has been substantial interest in our new products and the growing interest from overseas operators provides significant export potential. Juergen’s expertise will be invaluable in helping us to maximize these opportunities and his decision to join the company is a considerable step forward for us.’
