Senior appointments at Hanson Cement

Mark Hickingbottom and Andy Simpson

Mark Hickingbottom and Andy Simpson promoted to national commercial director roles

HANSON Cement have made two senior promotions with the appointment of Mark Hickingbottom as national commercial director – bulk cement, and Andy Simpson as national commercial director – packed.

The newly promoted directors will work collaboratively to ensure products and services exceed customer requirements, reflecting Hanson’s aim always to be first choice by providing excellent service and solutions.

Mr Hickingbottom (left) has extensive sales and marketing experience within Hanson’s bulk cement team, as well as a BA (Hons) degree in Business Management. He is an associate member of The Institute of Concrete Technology and in his 12+ years at Hanson has been successful in delivering strategic plans across the company’s product range.

Mr Simpson (right), previously responsible for sales of all Hanson’s packed products, will build on developing strong trading relations with merchant customers as well as working with internal teams to ensure service excellence is delivered at every stage of customers’ interaction with the business. He has more than 15 years’ experience with Hanson and holds a first-class degree in Business Studies.

The appointments follow the recent retirement of commercial director Keith Ellis.

Jim Claydon, managing director of Hanson Cement, said: ‘I look forward to working with Mark and Andy in their new roles, and developing new and existing customer relationships to fulfil our aim of becoming the go-to company in this competitive market.’
