Robson win prestigious awards

Materials handling company scoop three business awards

Sheffield-based handling company Geo Robson & Co Ltd have scooped three of the nominated awards at the Sheffield Business Awards.

The categories were:

• The Kennedy’s Business Person of the Year Award, won by Kevin Mannion, production director
• The Wake Smith Excellence in Manufacturing Award
• The Irwin Mitchell Excellence in Customer Service Award

The company also won the Outstanding Business of the Year 2010 award.
    
Robson are one of Sheffield’s quiet giants, honing the design and engineering skills of their staff, keeping the tradition of heavy engineering and steelwork alive in Sheffield.

Robson’s contribution to Sheffield’s engineering heritage spans over 100 years, with many of their employees staying with the company most of their working lives. Robson also strive to educate and steer young people into engineering with the school work experience programme. Delegates are often invited to return to the company for employment after their education.
