Recycling operator turns to Vacu-Lug expertise

Vacu-Lug tyre management service

Tyre-management service provides fleet efficiency and cost control benefits for Mid UK Recycling Ltd

MID UK Recycling Ltd, specialists in waste-management, recycling and resource recovery, have reported ‘100% traceability’ on their vehicle fleet since switching to Vacu-Lug’s dedicated tyre-management service.

Operating a nationwide fleet of more than 70 vehicles, the recycling firm has also reaped the benefits of reduced machinery downtime and more consistent operating costs with the VMS tyre fleet-management system.

Dave Alsop, sales director for Vacu-Lug, said: ‘At the end of the day it’s all about vehicle safety and fleet efficiency. Vacu-Lug provides bespoke fleet management solutions which ensure compliance with tyre policy and the law. Plus, from a commercial standpoint it is important to keep costs down and vehicles on the move. In both regards, this is what the VMS system is designed to do.’

Nick Mountain, transport director for Mid UK Recycling, added: ‘We operate a diverse and busy fleet from three East Midlands-based resource recovery facilities and this requires a reliable tyre-management service to ensure absolute safety and compliance at all times. The VMS system allows us to access and analyze fleet data in real-time using full tyre usage reports per vehicle and trailer. It provides 100% traceability for compliance, along with our zero defect system, and contributes greatly to the efficient running of the fleet.’

In addition to the tyre-management service, Mid UK Recycling have opted for Vacu-Lug’s own branded Logistik LD01 premium drive-axle tyres which have been specially designed for long haul truck operations.

Mid UK Recycling process in excess of 450,000 tonnes of waste per annum with 100% recovery from landfill. Control of its own logistics, says the company, is paramount to achieving the high-quality services provided to its customers.
