Ravelrig extension

Tarmac’s Ravelrig Quarry at Balerno, near Edinburgh, has received the go-ahead for operations to continue for a further nine years, allowing an additional 8.5 million tonnes of aggregate to be extracted. The extension plans include an extensive restoration initiative that will see the site transformed into a nature reserve by 2019.
