Profitable growth continues at Holcim

Holcim

Record first-half results with net sales up 16.9% and growth momentum expected to continue

FROM net sales to recurring EBIT, Holcim have reported record results for the first half (H1) ended 30 June 2022.

Net sales of CHF14,681 million in H1 were up 16.9% (+12.7% on a like-for-like basis) compared with the same period in 2021, driven by sales growth in all segments, whilst net sales in the second quarter alone were CHF8,240 million, or 13.6% higher like for like than the prior-year period.

Likewise, recurring EBIT reached a record CHF2,173 million in the first half of 2022, up 9.6% (+5.7% like for like) compared with the same period last year.

Holcim’s balance sheet also remained strong in H1 and was recognized by credit rating upgrades, with Standard & Poor’s upgrading Holcim’s rating to BBB+ in March 2022 and Moody’s upgrading it to Baa1 three month later in June.

Looking ahead, Holcim say that despite volatile market conditions and geopolitical uncertainty, they expect growth momentum to continue with growth in net sales of at least 10%, upgraded from 8%, plus positive growth in recurring EBIT.
