New warning beacons from ECCO Safety Group

Vehicle safety beacon

US-based safety systems specialist introduces fixed and temporary LED warning beacon ranges

ECCO Safety Group, the US-based multi-national designers and manufacturers of vehicle safety systems with European headquarters in Leeds, have further extended their comprehensive range of amber warning beacons with the addition of the EB7181 and EB7186 series of ECE Regulation 65-compliant ‘square’ beacons.

Suitable for most types of commercial vehicles and available to OEM and aftermarket customers via the ECCO network of approved distributors, the EB7181 and EB7186 beacons are modern looking units that are purpose designed to complement the latest on trend vehicle styles.

The compact, low-profile EB7181 (pictured) incorporates the latest high-intensity LEDs. These produce a powerful warning signal that conforms with the requirements of ECE Regulation 65 Class I, a single level of illumination which is especially effective at night or in low light.

The beacon has eight selectable flash patterns, including a simulated rotating flash, and can be synchronized with other units on the vehicle. They have a low current draw and are suitable for use on 12V or 24V vehicles without adjustment.

The EB7186 meets the requirements of ECE Regulation 65 Class II, which provides for a dimming capability at night from the dual levels of illumination and offers 24 selectable flash patterns, including a simulated rotating pattern.

Both units feature a secure four-bolt fixing and carry a three-year warranty. Dimensions are 166mm x 153mm, with the EB7181 series measuring just 59mm in height whilst the dual-level EB7186 series is 83mm in height.

In addition, ECCO Safety Group have also recently launched the 5545 and 5550 Reflex LED microbars, offering the mounting flexibility of permanent or magnetic options for temporary applications.

The Reflex microbars are compact, low-profile products that incorporate four high-intensity reflector modules, each containing six LEDs with 18 integral flash patterns. There is a choice of amber or clear polycarbonate lenses across the range. Reflex microbars are suitable for 12V or 24V vehicles without adjustment.

The 5550-series Reflex bars meet current European regulations, including R65 and the EMC requirement of Regulation 10. The temporary-fit magnetic option, which allows fitment to hire or lease vehicles without the need to drill holes, features four strong magnets and a 2.5m long cable with dual switch plug.

The 5545 series Reflex offers a more competitively priced non-ECE R65-compliant version for operation in the UK and outside the EU.
