New Volvo FM for North Wales tipper firm

Volvo FM 8x4 tipper

O J Jones & Son take delivery of new eight-wheeler from Thomas Hardie Commercials

SUPPLIED by Thomas Hardie Commercials Ltd’s Deeside depot, a striking ‘Classic’ Volvo FM 8x4 is the latest addition to North Wales’ tipper specialist O J Jones & Son’s hard-working fleet.

With its ‘high-visibility’ traditional livery featuring the Prince of Wales feathers, the motto ‘Ich Dien’ (I Serve) and Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon of Wales), the FM features a Globetrotter cab, I-Shift transmission and Volvo’s fuel-efficient 13-litre engine rated at 460hp.

Polished stainless steel mirror protector plates, air horns and Kelsa light bars complete the set up, while the bodywork is by Wilcox with Binotto tipping gear.

As part of the total support package offered, Thomas Hardie Commercials keep the O J Jones & Son fleet supplied with parts via deliveries from their Deeside depot.

Founded in 1962, the family owned and managed tipper operator, based in Porthmadog, celebrated 50 years in business in 2012 and the new eight-wheeler is the latest in a long line of Volvo trucks owned by the company.
