New president appointed at Nynas

Gert Wendroth

Oil industry expert Gert Wendroth to take over from Staffan Lennström who retires at the end of April

GERT Wendroth has been appointed as the new president of Nynas AB, with effect from 1 March 2014. He will replace Staffan Lennström who is retiring at the end of April.

Mr Wendroth (pictured) has a strong background in the oil industry, his most recent position being chief executive officer of H&R AG, a German listed company operating two base oil refineries in Germany and a number of blending and filling plants for specialty products around the world.

Before that he held various management positions in the Royal Dutch Shell Group, with a strong focus on business-to-business sales and marketing.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr Wendroth said: ‘Nynas are a company that I have known for quite some time and always admired for their focus on specialties and their technical know-how.

‘It really is a unique company that offers a lot of growth prospects. In particular, the acquisition of the Harburg refinery is a significant investment in the future of Nynas, so it’s very exciting to join the company at this precise moment.’
