Ecological consultant Dr Carolyn Jewell takes over planning adviser role from Charlotte Kinnear

NATURE After Minerals – the partnership programme between the RSPB and Natural England, with support from the minerals industry – has announced the appointment of a new planning adviser following the departure of Charlotte Kinnear, who has now taken on the role of RSPB conservation officer for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Dr Carolyn Jewell, who comes from a background in ecological consultancy, specializing in environmental impact assessments and various environmental issues in the planning system, joined the Nature After Minerals team on Monday 3 October.

In her new role, Dr Jewell will continue to have an England-wide remit. Engaging with and influencing the minerals planning process – in particular Minerals Development Frameworks – to achieve positive policy outcomes for wildlife remains a priority for the role, as it does for the Nature After Minerals programme as a whole.
