New management appointment at Thompsons

Patrick Golding

Tipper vehicle bodybuilder appoints Patrick Golding as group purchasing manager

THOMPSONS have announced the appointment of Patrick Golding as group purchasing manager.

In a key role that will add further strength to Thompsons management team, Mr Golding’s first responsibility will be to streamline the Group’s purchasing processes, thereby taking full advantage of potential economies of scale across both the Thompsons and Charlton product lines.

Equally important, Mr Golding (pictured) will also pay particular attention to the problems of exchange rates and currency values in today’s increasingly volatile business environment.

Having previously held a senior role at Kent-based Scarab Sweepers, Mr Golding is already very familiar with both vehicle bodybuilding and the wider commercial vehicle industry.

Commenting on his new role, he said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Thompsons in this key role and at such an important time in the company’s development.

‘Whilst some of the challenges ahead are considerable, I have no doubt whatsoever that the Group will continue to extend its overall performance and clear leadership in the tipper bodybuilding industry.’

Thompsons director Scott Burton said: ‘Patrick brings to us an impressive set of proven financial skills along with a particular understanding of the commercial vehicle industry.

‘With many of the world’s economic and political systems under pressure, his position will be of particular importance in piloting the Group’s further growth into the future.’
