New hybrid excavators from Komatsu

Construction equipment manufacturer confirms worldwide launch of HB205 and HB215LC hybrids

FOLLOWING the Japanese launch of the HB205 and HB215LC hybrid hydraulic excavators last month, Komatsu have announced a full, worldwide roll-out is expected later in the year. The latest models will be available in North America, Latin America, Europe, China and south-east Asia.

In addition to offering reduced fuel consumption and lower nitrogen and carbon emissions, the HB205 and HB215LC units provide improved maintainability thanks to a change of hybrid components. Operators can, therefore, expect a greater operating rate from the machines.

The hybrids also come with an optional common-use hydraulic pipe, which accommodates the utilization of different attachments for a wide range of worksite conditions.

Having developed the world’s first hybrid hydraulic excavator, the PC200-8, Komatsu have confirmed that they are planning to expand their hybrid technologies to larger excavator models and other construction equipment.
