New executive VP at Martin Marietta

Board of directors elects legal affairs expert Roselyn R. Bar to executive vice-president role

ROSELYN R. Bar, senior vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary of Martin Marietta Materials Inc., has been elected as an executive vice-president of the company.

Ms Bar joined the company in 1994 as assistant general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. She was promoted to corporate secretary in 1997 and associate general counsel in 1998.

 

In 2000 she became deputy general counsel and a year later was named vice-president and general counsel. She has served as senior vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary since 2005.

Ms Bar, who holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law School, held a number of corporate attorney and corporate counsel positions with various US firms prior to joining Martin Marietta. 

She serves as the vice-chair of the Council of Counsel and as a member of the Legal Task Force of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), and is also a member of the New York, California, Florida and American Bar associations.
