Pump specialists appoint Mark Verweij as new European sales manager for its dewatering division

SPP Pumps have recruited Mark Verweij to the newly created role of European sales manager for the company’s specialist dewatering division. Mr Verweij will be based near Rotterdam where he will bring his considerable pump industry and application experience to not only help with sales across Europe and support to distributors, but also to establish a strong sales presence in the Netherlands.

‘I believe SPP Pumps as a company, with its knowledge of the market in both pumps and engineering, is capable of making a significant impact in Holland,’ commented Mr Verweij. ‘SPP’s solutions in both water pumps and bespoke projects is unparalleled and I am excited at the prospect of building the business in both Holland and further afield.’

SPP Pumps’ dewatering division offers a range of vacuum-assisted, dry self-priming pumps developed for rental firms, contractors, utility companies and open cast mines. Versatile, portable and lightweight, the range is deployed around the world for diverse and demanding applications, including: site dewatering; industrial sludge pumping; tank sediment cleaning; flood relief; wellpointing; and sewage over pumping.

Duncan Jackson, head of SPP Pumps’ dewatering division, explained the company strategy behind the new appointment. ‘Holland has a lot of land that is below sea level so there is a market here that we want to focus on. And Mark Verweij is an ideal fit to lead our sales strategy in the country.’
