Strzeblowskie Kopalnie Surowców Mineralnych invest in new DL420-5 wheel loader

STRZEBLOWSKIE Kopalnie Surowców Mineralnych Sp. z o.o. specialize in the extraction and supply of materials to the ceramics industry, and operate a quarry in Sobotka, Poland, where two deposits of feldspar and two deposits of granite aggregates are extracted.

The company not only has a dedicated team of workers but also a fleet of proven, reliable plant and equipment, including a recently delivered Doosan DL420-5 Stage IV-compliant wheel loader.

Strzeblowskie receive EU financial support, which has helped the business to update and modernize its machinery fleet, as well as develop a new processing plant.

‘We were looking to purchase a large wheel loader to carry large quantities of material at the quarry,’ said chief executive officer Janusz Kozyrski. ‘We selected the Doosan DL420-5 wheel loader, which is equipped with a 5 cubic metre-capacity, specially reinforced bucket. The lifting system is also very strong and designed specifically for heavy loads.’

The Doosan DL420-5 wheel loader is powered by a 345hp Scania engine, which meets Stage IV emission regulations and is complemented by a five-speed ZF PowerShift gearbox that is able to work in automatic or manual mode along with the lock-up torque converter, providing reduced fuel consumption.

The wheel loader offers a number of working modes, including Eco, Normal and Power. There is also a Power-up function that reduces the gear-shifting time by fully pressing the accelerator pedal. For added operator comfort and ease of maintenance, the DL420-5 benefits from a spacious cab, good visibility, air-conditioning, a reversing camera, central lubrication and a quick-fit connector.

Grzegorz Rojewski, fleet equipment and plant manager for the quarrying business, said: ‘In the past, many companies in Poland used second-hand equipment imported from abroad. In many cases, there comes a point where the cost of maintenance and repair of these machines exceeds their value. So, more and more customers today are deciding to buy new equipment with the guarantee of maintenance and spare parts.

‘This is true of the aftermarket service offered by our local Doosan dealers, Grausch and Grausch, whose knowledgeable service engineers are trained to solve problems. In addition, a service centre is close by and that suits us very well.’
