New concrete batching plant for Mick George

Mick George batching plant

Firm extends catchment area with opening of new batching plant in Northamptonshire

MICK George Ltd are continuing to gain momentum since moving in to the Northamptonshire region, with a growing number of service offerings to both domestic and commercial customers, including the recent unveiling of a brand new concrete batching plant at Crow Lane Industrial Estate, on Lower Ecton Lane in Great Billing.

To date, the business has been providing volumetric concrete on a temporary basis, but the new facility allows the production of BSI Kitemark quality-assured batch-mixed concrete for delivery within Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas.

The plant is the eighth of its type for Mick George and extends this service beyond the Cambridge, Peterborough, Leicester boundaries, to clients who have previously fallen outside the company’s catchment area.

The recent development means Mick George will now be able to produce an average of 60 cubic metres of concrete per hour, making the service ideal for ready-mixed concrete and floor screed projects, both large and small, for delivery and collection.

Garry Woodcock, concrete operations manager at Mick George Ltd, said: ‘Commercially, we have gained a lot of interest in and around Northamptonshire for our products. The site was originally home to state-of-the-art recycling technology as part of our waste-management service, so the facility seemed the perfect location to increase our concrete offering, providing trade and residential customers with what they want.’
