New Caterpillar waste handler for Crapper & Sons Landfill

Cat 930K waste handler

Wiltshire-based firm becomes first UK customer to purchase Cat 930K machine from Finning

CRAPPER & Sons Landfill Ltd have become the first Finning customer to purchase a Cat 930K waste handler through the ‘Just Add Diesel’ campaign.

Crapper & Sons chose the Cat 930K machine to assist with the movement of compost waste and the recycling of wood, which are processed into commercial compost and wood chipboard, respectively. The waste handler features a new loader frame configuration and high-lift loader, making it suitable for this type of work.

The launch of the Just Add Diesel campaign gives customers the opportunity to take on a operating lease that includes a Premium Warranty and Finsight, the proactive analysis service from Finning, for just one monthly payment. According to Finning, the customer simply adds diesel to ensure the machine is fully operational, providing a 98% uptime guarantee for the operator.

Richard Crapper, managing director of Crapper and Sons Landfill, said: ‘We’ve always found Finning to be very helpful whenever we’ve needed to call on them, so it made sense to consider an upgrade to a 930K.

‘Whilst we discussed the various options available, the Just Add Diesel scheme was the most practical option from a business point of view. The one monthly payment is very useful, as we don’t have to worry about further outgoings in servicing and call out charges.’

Commenting on the deal Peter Atkinson, territory account manger at Finning, said: ‘The Just Add Diesel campaign gives our customers a great alternative compared to a normal lease. When the time came to sit down with Richard Crapper and discuss what options were available to his company, it was decided that a 930K waste handler through the Just Add Diesel Campaign was the best for them.’

Just Add Diesel also gives operatives of Cat machines the opportunity to attend the Institute of Quarrying’s accredited Eco-Drive programme to improve fuel economy and productivity.
