New depot in Cumbernauld offers rental services for Bobcat equipment north of the border

MTS Group have announced the opening of a new depot at Cumbernauld, in North Lanarkshire, that will provide full Bobcat equipment rental services in Scotland. MTS Group run one of the largest fleets of Bobcat compact equipment for hire in the UK, and the new Cumbernauld depot adds to the existing MTS hire depots at Leigh in Lancashire, Birtley in Tyne and Wear and at the company’s headquarters in Wakefield, Yorkshire.

The expansion has been accompanied by ongoing investment in Bobcat compact loaders and excavators worth more than £1.5 million for the MTS Group rental fleet, providing new machines for hire from the Cumbernauld depot and the company’s other outlets.

The fleet expansion includes purchases of the latest Bobcat equipment, such as S450, S510 and S550 skid-steer loaders, T590 compact tracked loaders and brand new E19 and E20 compact excavators. Thanks to the investment, a comprehensive range of Bobcat compact loaders, excavators and attachments is available for rent at all times from the Cumbernauld depot.

Peter Watson, managing director of MTS Group, said: ‘Scotland has always been a busy market for us, especially in the winter months and in times of inclement weather, when the Bobcat range is in its element. Winter attachments, including snow blowers, buckets, snow blades and salt and sand spreaders, are all available from Cumbernauld, part of a fleet of over 100 Bobcat attachments for hire from MTS Group, the largest of its kind in the UK.

‘In the past, we have served the Scottish market from our Birtley depot, near Newcastle, but the opening of the Cumbernauld depot allows us to enhance our service in Scotland, bringing it right to the doorstep of our customers in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and elsewhere in Scotland.’

MTS Group’s fleet of attachments covers a wide selection from standard and 4-in-1 buckets, hydraulic breakers and road planers to stump grinders and backhoes, delivering versatility and time-saving efficiency across a broad range of applications.

Alongside the hire of products from the MTS Group fleet, the company can offer full training on the use of any Bobcat product. MTS Group are nationally approved to provide training to all levels of competence, as well as delivering two standards – Bobcat accredited training and Lantra Awards.

The training takes place either at the customer’s premises or on the dedicated training grounds run by MTS Group. Course durations are between one and five days depending on the level of competence of the operator.
