Martin Engineering open new facility in China

Production begins at new 10,000 square metre manufacturing plant and warehouse in Kunshan

MARTIN Engineering have announced the opening of a new full-service business location with manufacturing capabilities in Kunshan, in the Jiangsu Province of China. The new build facility includes 8,000 square metres of manufacturing and warehouse space and 2,000 square meters of office accommodation, making it eight times larger than the company’s existing space.

The large production area incorporates a full range of manufacturing operations, including laser cutting, metal fabrication, painting, assembly and testing. ‘The new facility will allows to greatly expand our operations, improving supply and service to the Asian region,’ said Eric Zheng, managing director of Martin Engineering China. ‘The enhanced manufacturing capabilities will also help us to do an even better job engineering customized solutions for bulk material handlers.’

 

Martin Engineering China began operations in 2005 and rapidly outgrew their 1,200 square meter leased space. The company primarily serves customers in the coal mining, power generation and cement production sectors, but will be looking to expand its activities in other industries.

According to Mr Zheng, the Chinese market represents a significant opportunity for the business, as increased industrialization and improved infrastructure both continue to drive the country’s development. ‘There is a definite need to introduce the latest bulk material handling technology to a range of industries across China,’ he commented.
