L. Lynch Plant expand fleet with Komatsu

MIDDLESEX-based L. Lynch Plant Hire have purchased two new Komatsu excavators to supplement their fleet of earthmoving machinery. The PC228USLC-3 and PC290LC-8 machines were ordered as part of the company’s fleet modernization programme, as Robert Lynch, sales director of L. Lynch Plant, commented: ‘We are regularly replacing our machines to fulfil our Equipment Renewal Programme, which ensures that our customers receive and use the latest equipment. But more importantly, we want our new machines to meet health and safety standards.’

The PC228USLC-3, in particular, has been designed with health and safety in mind. The excavator features a short rear tail swing that allows it to operate in confined areas where conventional profile excavators would pose a safety risk.

Komatsu have achieved this on the PC228USLC-3 by developing a round profile design, together with the protrusion from the track measuring only 280mm. The machine also occupies a road width of nearly 4m, making it suitable for work without having to close off the entire road.

Other benefits of the Komatsu excavator include extended hydraulic filter replacement intervals, easy maintenance features and a large, low-noise comfortable cab.
