But from my experience as a customer of the business, I know how important it is to listen to the market and develop solutions that can help our customers become more profitable.

‘With the widest product range and service offering in the UK and Ireland, from our compact dealers to our mining operations, I believe Finning have a real opportunity to grow the business and support more customers in what is a highly competitive market.’

Prior to joining Hewden, Mr Parkes spent 13 years working with Finning in the UK, undertaking a range of roles in its Equipment Solutions Division.

Finning’s managing director, Neil Dickinson, said: ‘Kevin’s appointment is extremely significant to our Equipment Solutions Division, as he understands our culture and has proven leadership skills.

‘He has steered the Hewden business through a wide range of transformational changes, all focused on serving the customer, and we look forward to him bringing that same customer focus and experience to Finning.’
