JCB power recycling firm to success

RECYCLING specialists The Nick Brookes Group have purchased one of JCB’s largest generators – a JCB G550Q model – to provide the prime power source for their new state-of-the-art aggregates washing plant.

The Cheshire-based firm processes demolition and construction waste from around the north of England at its headquarters in Wardle, near Nantwich. Once processed through the company’s own waste transfer station, materials are loaded on to the new washing equipment, which is powered by the new 550kVA generator with its zinc coated, sound-attenuated canopy.

In addition to the high-specification standard features incorporated across the JCB range, the new G550Q model installed for Nick Brookes features a centre point lift, bunded fuel tank and an MX341 AVR Newage Stamford alternator fitted with a permanent magnet generator for increased power acceptance when motor starting.

The JCB G550Q generator follows three smaller JCB generators and several Loadall telescopic handlers and excavators into the Nick Brookes product line-up. A new JS200W Wastemaster wheeled excavator with waste selector grab has also just joined the fleet, to sort waste and load bays in the waste transfer station.

Owner Nick Brookes said: ‘We were initially visited by a specialist from JCB Power Products who specified this model to meet our heavy-duty requirement and I’m pleased to say the new JCB generator is now installed and doing exactly what we ask of it.’

JCB have established an extensive range of 44 diesel-powered generator models, covering 18 power nodes from 15 to 550kVA, with bespoke builds available up to 3,000kVA. All models feature canopies manufactured from heavy-duty galvanised steel with a polymer powder coating for protection from rust, while engines and alternators are matched to give trouble-free operation and all daily checks and service points are located for easy access.
