IROCK launch updated TS-522 TDR screener

IROCK TS-522 TDR screener

US manufacturer adds rinser to mobile tracked screening plant

OHIO-based IROCK Crushers, specialists in mobile crushing and screening equipment, have redesigned their TS-522 TDR screening plant which now features a rinser.

The revised tracked screen gives quarry and mining operators the convenience to screen and wash materials (eg aggregates) at the same time for end-use applications, including concrete and asphalt production. It can sort and wash as many as three sized and one oversized products simultaneously, suitable for medium- to large-scale operations.

The 300 tonnes/h TS-522 screener features three decks with nine spray bars along the top deck, while the middle and bottom decks each have eight bars. Each of the spray bar’s durable brass heads deliver water pressure (25 psi) to efficiently and effectively remove dirt and debris from the material.

Technicians can rotate the spray bars to change the angle so that the water hits the material, which can be done to help hold aggregates on the screen longer or force it through the screen media.

Additional spray bars, which are found on the new rinse box, pre-soak material to allow faster and easier removal of tough mud and clay as material reaches the screen decks.

The rinser’s 14ft wide hopper holds as much as 12 cubic yards of material. This provides ample space to accommodate large amounts of aggregates, resulting in optimal production rates. The screening area (320 sq ft) of the machine contributes to the unit’s high output, while the two 22ft x 5ft decks and 20ft x 5ft bottom deck media can be changed, giving customers full control over end-product size.

The TS-522 TDR’s catch box can be lined with IROCK’s optional wear-resistant rubber to withstand the abrasiveness of sand and water during the screening process. The rubber liner is said to be highly robust, significantly reducing catch box repair and replacement costs for plant operator.

The rinser box has discharge pipes for sorting as many as two different sized sand products for use as sellable materials, such as concrete and masonry sand, from the bottom deck.

Hydraulically folding side conveyors on the screening plant accommodate high stockpiling and capacities. The conveyors stack material as high as 16 fee and 8 inch on the sides. The high-stacking conveyors also provide the convenience of running the machine for long periods of time before repositioning the finished material.

Users can set up the screen quickly and easily, as many components (eg conveyors) are hydraulically powered with easy-to-use controls. The TS-522 TDR plant is powered by a Caterpillar C4.4 engine (129hp) and is equipped with a host of enhanced productivity and durability features.

A vibrating livehead, for example, replaces the standard grid over the hopper to screen material and loosen heavy, dirty and sticky debris from materials before it enters the hopper. This helps accelerate the screening process and boost production.
