Company redesigns and relaunches corporate website featuring latest advanced technology

HITACHI Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) have completely redesigned and  relaunched their corporate website presence under a new URL, www.hitachicm.eu, to replace the former site.

Visitors to the new site can view the Hitachi model line-up using the latest advanced technology in keeping with HCME’s overall aim of developing close links with their authorized dealer network and vast customer base.

To achieve this, Hitachi say the new website has set the benchmark for ease of use and accessibility to the information with an appropriate level of entertainment and interactivity that this medium demands.

Quick and easy access is provided to enhanced sections covering the Hitachi model range and associated services, in addition to some dynamic new features. These include used equipment, a machine comparison tool and a media library, as well as increased prominence for the dealer locator, careers and Support Chain sections.

HCME had already announced a strategic partnership with Mascus – the online marketplace for buying and selling used construction machinery – earlier this year and the new website highlights the first of a series of joint re-marketing tools. The used equipment page will be of direct benefit to Hitachi’s European dealers, who will be able to manage their stocks of used machines and present them in a new showroom window for Hitachi customers to view 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Machine comparison is another valuable tool to help in the initial stages of the decision-making process between different Hitachi models. After selecting at least two excavators, wheel loaders or other products from the range on offer, the viewer can see an instantaneous summary of specifications – such as the engine rated power, operating weight and bucket size – in a user-friendly tabular format.

The media library also adds a new dimension to HCME’s corporate internet presence, with a wide range of images, videos and brochures available to download. Other interactive features highlight Hitachi’s social media channels, job opportunities and how to find and contact any one of more than 40 authorized dealers across Europe and Africa who represent more than 50 countries.

‘The driving force behind HCME’s new-look website was to replicate the look and feel of HCM’s (Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd) global site,’ said HCME’s president, Makoto Yamazawa. ‘Having achieved this, our digital team has focused on the needs of our European dealers and customers, such as the dynamic content, the creation of a one-stop information centre, and an enjoyable and easy viewing experience.

‘All of this has resulted in an incredibly user-friendly, informative and fun online resource, which is adaptable to the needs of everyone from existing Hitachi owners to those visitors experiencing our brand for the first time. Some of the more subtle elements have also contributed to this, such as larger images and the tone of voice used throughout.’
