UK Futures Programme now open for proposals for co-funding of up to £150,000

THE UK Futures Programme is now open for proposals for co-funding of up to £150,000 from employers in the manufacturing sector who are looking at developing new processes, new products, or new training systems.

The fund will invest in projects that develop, pilot, or scale out ideas and can be delivered through collaboration between employers, education providers and skills bodies, such as Proskills.

The purpose of the fund is to design new ways of boosting the skills and business practices needed to maximize the value of UK innovation, with particular focus on how staff can undertake and support the management and commercialization of innovation.

Some of the areas in which projects could be developed include: innovation-relevant management development; innovation-relevant commercialization development; recruitment, retention and career pathways; job design; Incentivising innovation; and broader organizational strategy.

Projects themselves could be focused on: introducing new training for staff, line and/or senior managers; the development of organizational structures and processes; facilitating work placements or sharing staff between organizations; mentoring, coaching and peer-to-peer learning; building new or developing existing employer networks; and developing or adapting tools and techniques for restructuring innovation management, aligned to broader organizational strategy.
