Flexco introduce new rivet solid plate fastening system

Flexco say their new BR6 rivet solid plate fastening system offers a quicker and improved solution to belt tensions and pulley diameters that could not be handled by the BR10.

Designed for troughed belts with 20° and 35° troughing idlers, the BR6 can handle tensions from 330 to 400lbs/in width and conveyor systems with pulleys as small as 14in with operating tension ratings at 75–100%.

The BR6 requires only six rivets per fastener compared with the 10 needed by BR10. It is available in full-width strips of 24in, 30in, 36in or 42in, and can be used as an alternative to vulcanized applications and straight-warped belting.

Flexco claim installing the BR6 fasteners is much quicker and simpler with the improved aluminium MBRT tool. Featuring a new and improved lighter-weight aluminium structure, together with a high-strength clamp bar, the MBRT tool reduces installation time by around 30-50min per slice.

The scalloped edge on the tool allows the BR6 fasteners to nest securely on the bottom of the belt without the use of cumbersome clips and cam rods. As well as the MBRT tool, the BR6 fasteners can be installed by other methods and tools, including hand installation and power installation using Hitachi power tools.
