Finning Apprentice Recruitment Open Day

Finning apprentices

Firm hosting open day on 20 February for young engineers interested in becoming an apprentice

CATERPILLAR dealers Finning, who are currently recruiting for apprentice posts in 2014, will be holding an open day between 4pm and 8pm on Thursday 20 February, for young engineers interested in developing their career through an apprenticeship.

The Apprentice Recruitment Open Day, which will take place at the Finning Training Academy at the company’s headquarters in Cannock, will feature a range of engaging activities for attendees, giving them the opportunity to experience first-hand what life is like as a Finning apprentice.

Activities on the day will include a guided tour of the Finning Training Academy, demonstrations of simulators and training equipment used within the academy, and a guided tour of the main Finning workshop with an overview of the Cat equipment range.

Nicki Haywood, apprentice training co-ordinator at Finning, said: ‘Finning are passionate about providing opportunities for the engineering talent in the West Midlands and beyond, and one of the best ways to achieve that is through apprenticeships. We have had tremendous success in the past with our apprenticeship scheme and the feedback we have from our apprentices is always positive.

‘There are incredible opportunities for Finning employees, so I strongly recommend that if you’re passionate about engineering, you come along to the open day and get hands-on experience of what life is like as an apprentice.’

All attendees will have the chance to meet and chat to Finning’s current apprentices, as well as the opportunity to speak to the training staff about the recruitment process and any future apprenticeship prospects. They will also learn more about Finning and the company’s ambitions, and how they, as apprentices, will play an integral role in helping to bring those ambitions to fruition.
