ERIKS ‘superbranch’ to launch in Leeds

Company combining operations to provide customers with a more integrated and extended service

ERIKS are to combine their operations at two separate centres in Leeds into a purpose built 15,000 square foot ‘superbranch’ in the city, providing customers with a more integrated and extended service.

ERIKS’ Industrial Distribution Service Centre will be combined with their Electro Mechanical Service Centre at the new operating site in October, allowing the company to expand its range of services for the provision and maintenance of machine parts, such as motors, bearings and fans, and to broaden its capabilities in other areas, such as the supply and maintenance of pumps. The latter will include a dedicated pump service, with the new Leeds facility becoming a Core Competence Centre for pump repairs.

Commenting on the expansion, Bob Taylor, manager of the Electro Mechanical Service Centre, said: ‘The new site means larger premises, greater opportunities, more capability and an increased level of service. For example, we’ll now have two overhead cranes, so will be able to carry out repairs on larger machines that previously would have had to be transported to our site in Chesterfield. As a result, we’ll be able to save both time and cost for our local customers.’

Jim Dourish, regional operations director, added: ‘We will truly be a round the clock, 365-days-a-year service and our increased stock range and skill sets will enable some extremely fast response times; for example, we will have the parts and capacity on site to build and supply hydraulic hose assemblies in under an hour.’

The distribution service at the new centre will launch on Monday 3 October, with the repairs and maintenance operation following later in the month.
