Demolition contractors take delivery of new Hyundai excavators and wheel loaders

CORNWALL-based DRS Demolition National have invested around £2 million on a host of new Hyundai machines as part of a fleet upgrade and focus on using more Hyundai equipment.

These include: four R330LC-9A full demo-spec excavators; four R220LC-9A excavators, a 140LC-9A, a 140LC-9, three R80-9 excavator models; an R55-9 unit, an R33-9 and an HL740-9A wheel loader.

Molson Group, one of Hyundai’s largest UK dealers, brokered the deal and worked closely with DRS Demolition to ensure the company’s requirements were met.

Darren Shrigley, son of Dave Shrigley who founded DRS Demolition more than 35 years ago, said: ‘We built up a very good relationship with Molson’s Tom Wilson over some time; he understood what we needed as a company and went all out to supply us with what we wanted. We tested a couple of Hyundai machines and liked the price and service deal offered by Molson, along with the excellent backup service.’

The new Hyundai machines are currently working in and around the Cornwall area on various jobs – the latest being the demolition of the Atlantic House hotel in New Polzeath as part of a redevelopment project.
