Cost-effective DVR technology for quarry vehicles

Vision Techniques launch new range of affordable mobile digital video recorders for quarry vehicles

BLACKBURN-based vehicle specialists Vision Techniques have launched a brand new range of mobile hi-tech digital video recorders (DVRs) to help quarry industry bosses speed up accident investigations.

Difficult, noisy and ever-changing conditions within the quarrying and mining sector make it a hazardous work environment with a higher risk of accidents. But discovering the reasons for any accident that has occurred can be an arduous process due to a lack of corroborating evidence, which leads to substantial investigation costs.

Recorded footage from Vision Techniques’ new vehicle-mounted cameras will not only provide an accurate ‘eyewitness’ account to help with such investigations, but can also help identify potential hazards and operational problems, such as near misses, lack of PPE, or dangerous driving.

Vision Techniques say their new range includes a hi-tech product that uses a live video feed and offers the option to download recorded footage to fleet managers’ mobile devices, as well as a durable, cost-effective model and another that includes location tracking and speed and acceleration monitoring to motivate driver best practice.

All models include SD cards for easy viewing, and the range is designed to suit any budget with fleet managers able to choose from mid-range to low-cost models.
