CEMEX Ventures launches first open call
New corporate venture capital group seeks entrepreneurs, start-ups and innovators to disrupt the construction ecosystem
CEMEX Ventures has launched its first open call, which will run from 29 March until 24 May 2017. The call is open to anyone willing to explore innovative and/or technology-driven business models within the construction ecosystem, such as start-ups, entrepreneurs, and innovators.
CEMEX Ventures will consider any idea at any stage of maturity, from those at a conceptual stage, to those more developed with a prototype in place.
Ideas to be considered should not be restricted only to the building materials arena, but should focus on four key areas affecting the broader construction ecosystem: urban development; connectivity improvements within the construction value chain; new construction trends and technologies; and the creation and development of new project finance resources.
Based on CEMEX Ventures selection criteria, the most promising ideas or projects will be pitched to the company’s top management, and the winning ideas from the pitch phase will receive financial support, mentorship and access to key industry expertise and infrastructure to help accelerate their continued growth.
