CEMEX UK launch lightweight foamed concrete range

Porofoam concrete

Company introduces Porofoam concretes for void fill and other lightweight applications

CEMEX UK have launched Porofoam, a new range of premixed lightweight foamed concretes which offer a range of densities down to as little as 300kg/m3.

The new range is specifically designed for void fill, stabilization and other lightweight applications, and can be designed with a density from 300kg/m3 up to 1,800kg/m3 or more, and compressive strengths up to 15N/mm2.

One of the first contracts involved the supply of Porofoam 1500 to a site in central London with very limited access. The consistent, free-flowing properties of Porofoam allowed for easy placement with no compaction required.

Two other Porofoam contracts have taken place to date, one in Hereford involving Porofoam 1000, where the product ‘exceeded the customers expectations’, and one in Ashton-under-Lyne in a tunnel infill scheme.

The official launch of Porofoam took place this week at the UK Construction Week event at the NEC in Birmingham.
