Cauldon cement plant not for sale

Shareholders identify Staffordshire site as cement plant potentially excluded from sale of Lafarge Tarmac

LAFARGE Tarmac say Cauldon works, in Staffordshire, has been identified by their shareholders as the cement plant potentially excluded from the sale of the company.

Subject to the successful completion of the Lafarge Holcim merger and necessary regulatory approvals, Cauldon cement plant and associated assets could become part of the future Lafarge Holcim business in the UK. The merger is due to complete in the first half of 2015.

However, until all legal aspects are resolved and the global Lafarge Holcim merger completes, Lafarge Tarmac say there will be no change for customers and suppliers, and Cauldon will remain part of the company and will continue to be managed as such.
