Tarmac graduate scheme

Tarmac welcome 37 university leavers to their 2016 nationwide graduate scheme

TARMAC have reaffirmed their commitment to skills development by welcoming 37 university leavers to their nationwide graduate scheme.

Working within an established team, each new recruit will complete a two-year placement offering a balance of hands-on experience to develop their skills in a chosen specialism alongside a formal training programme.

Commenting on the scheme, Tarmac senior vice-president Martin Riley, said: ‘Delivering projects of all scales requires skilled people and attracting new entrants to the sector is key. Our graduate scheme is just one of the ways that we are demonstrating our commitment to developing our future leaders at Tarmac and enabling individuals to make their mark on our business.’

This new intake marks the third successive year of Tarmac’s graduate programme and the company is now celebrating the results. Following the completion of the scheme, 18 recruits from Tarmac’s 2014 graduate intake have accepted full-time positions in the company.

Louise Aspinall, area technical manager covering the north-east of England and Northern Ireland, said: ‘Over the last two years, I’ve increased my knowledge and worked across a number of projects, while at the same time undertaking training opportunities offered by the business. It’s been a privilege to work on some major infrastructure projects and I look forward to progressing my career at Tarmac.’

Tarmac’s 2017 graduate scheme is now open for applicants. For further information, visit: www.tarmaccareers.com/graduates/
