Integrated machine management system to be exhibited for the first time
Hillhead 2012 will see the BOMAG Telematic integrated machine management system exhibited for the first time. BOMAG Telematic opens up a host of possibilities to increase operational efficiency, machine utilisation and security.
BOMAG Telematic is a robust electronics module integrated into the machine’s systems and sensors. The Telematic module, in the machine, constantly monitors GPS data to fix its position in real time. The module also monitors many other operational parameters of the machine including engine speed, engine water and oil temperature and oil pressures. The BOMAG Telematic system automatically transfers an array of data to a central secure server centre up to 150 times a day (every 10 minutes). The machine’s owners can access the data via any PC, laptop or smart phone with an Internet connection. The system is password protected and has a number of security safeguards built into it.
Contractors and rental companies can see where an individual machine is and what its doing at any time of the day or night.
Available on a range of BOMAG machines including light and heavy tandem rollers, single-drum rollers, milling machines and pavers, Telematic is available in two versions - START and POWER. The base package, START, provides a range of advanced functions for fleet management including:
- Real time location tracking
- Geo-fence functions for machine security and safety
- Monitoring of standing time
- Recording of operating hours
- Service and maintenance optimization.
POWER offers all the above plus:
- Alarm warnings for key operating parameters (high oil temperature for example)
- Recording of average fuel consumption by time period
- Idle running control
- Utilisation optimization management and control.
Other makes of equipment can be fitted with the BOMAG Telematic fleet-management system. This opens new opportunities for contractors and rental firms to control, monitor and schedule services for mixed fleets, using just one system.
