Bobcat launch new telehandler for MEA markets

Bobcat T40180 telehandler

New T40180 telescopic handler model to be unveiled at Intermat Middle East 2014

AT this year’s Intermat Middle East exhibition, Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment have announced the star turn of the Bobcat display on the stand for Kanoo Machinery (authorized Bobcat dealers for the UAE) will be the first showing of the new T40180 18m telehandler in the Middle East.

The new advanced T40180 model is Bobcat’s largest rigid-frame telescopic handler and, together with the new T40140 14m model, both machines have increased maximum lifting heights and are based on a new easy-to-use design that provides class-leading efficiency and productivity backed by state-of-the-art safety systems.

The T40180 telehandler has a maximum lift capacity of 4 tonnes and a maximum lift height of 17.52m. The lift capacity at maximum lift height is 2.5 tonnes, while at maximum reach (13.7m) the lift capacity is 560kg. Unloaded, the T40180 weighs 10.79 tonnes and provides a crowding force of 12,300daN.

For the T40140 telehandler, the maximum lift capacity is 4.1 tonnes and the maximum lift height is 13.71m. The capacity at maximum lift height is 4 tonnes, while at maximum reach (10.43m), the capacity is 1.3 tonnes. Unloaded, the T40140 weighs 10.29 tonnes and provides a tilt crowding force of 12,300daN.

The unique, patented Bobcat side-shift system is a standard feature on the T40180 and T40140 models, ensuring there is no need to reposition the machine if it is not aligned with an opening, providing maximum flexibility with a ±700mm side shift. This is combined with the unique integrated frame levelling system which works independently of the main frame to provide a tilt correction on inclined surfaces of  ±4° on tyres and up to ±12° on stabilizers for safe, optimum positioning of loads.

According to Doosan, the new Bobcat T40180 and T40140 models deliver market-leading load chart performance in their classes, when operating on tyres alone, where the high stability of the telehandlers ensures minimal loss of lift height and capacity. As a result, the T40180 telehandler has an unmatched maximum lifting height of 16.2m when operated on tyres, while the new T40140 model offers the highest lift capacity of 4.1 tonnes.

Also on display at the exhibition will be the Bobcat S130B, one of the best-selling skid-steer loaders in the Middle East and African markets. Powered by a 34.3kW Kubota V2203 four-cylinder diesel engine, the S130B model has an operating weight of 2,263kg, a rated operating capacity of 600kg, a tipping load of 1,200kg and a lift height of 2,781mm.

Among the other Bobcat products on show will be the new 500-platform compact loaders, which comprises six new-generation models – the S510, S530, S550, S570 and S580 skid-steers, as well as the T590 compact tracked loader.
