Bobcat introduce new compact loader model

Bobcat T450 compact loader

Company strengthens compact equipment range with launch of T450 compact tracked unit

BOBCAT have expanded their range of compact tracked loaders with the launch of the T450 model. Filling the gap in the range between the T110 and T590 models once occupied by the T140 unit, the T450 is said to offer a huge increase in power combined with hydraulic and hydrostatic efficiency enhancements that lead to significantly increased productivity.

Manufactured at the company’s Dobris plant in the Czech Republic, the T450 tracked loader is powered by a Bobcat D24 turbocharged diesel engine (61hp), providing 25% more power than its predecessor model. The D24 engine meets current Stage IIIB emission requirements through the use of cooled exhaust gas recirculation and diesel oxidation catalyst after-treatment technologies without diesel particulate filters.

The T450 loader is designed to deliver high productivity thanks to the increased pressure of its hydraulic system, which provides improved attachment performance. The machine, for example, can be matched with more than 80 different attachments and rear hydraulic auxiliary and seven-pin ACD connector options are available.

Fitted as standard on the compact loader is the quick-change Bob-Tach attachment-mounting frame. Alternatively, customers can choose the optional Power Bob-Tach system to change non-hydraulic attachments simply by flipping a switch inside the cab.

Equipped with radial lift boom arms, the rated operating capacity of the T450 unit has increased from 642kg to 665kg, while the operating weight has been reduced from 2,990kg to 2,789kg. Thanks to its compact dimensions and reduced weight, the T450 is easier to transport on a trailer towed by a light truck, 4x4 or all-terrain vehicle.

The tracked loader also features the same new-generation cab design used on the recently launched S450 skid-steer loader and larger next-generation Bobcat compact loaders.

The brand new cab is fully enclosed as standard, including a front door and wiper system. As well as greater operator space and all-round visibility, combined with enhanced front and rear working lights, customers can choose cab pressurization and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning options. Bobcat say they are the only company in the marketplace to offer these options on this size of tracked loader.

Other options on the T450 loader include an advanced control system and selectable joystick controls. The latter provides operator seat-mounted joysticks for increased control and comfort with ‘electric-over-hydraulic’ joystick control. Also available is a two-speed drive option for faster travel when required, which is beneficial in long haul applications.

As with all Bobcat equipment, the T450 compact tracked loader is designed to work long hours in demanding conditions with minimal routine maintenance. Improved uptime and serviceability features include Bobcat’s hydraulically powered SmartFAN – a patented, dual-path cooling system drawing cool, clean air from above while distributing hot air from the engine compartment and directing it out through two side vents. The machine also has a transverse-mounted engine for optimized weight distribution and full and direct accessibility to service components.
