Ouvo’s LiDAR system
Blickfeld's LiDAR system can provide accurate volume monitoring for the waste-management sector

Companies offering LiDAR-based volume monitoring solution for waste-recycling industry

BLICKFELD have teamed up with technology specialist distributor Quvo to offer their market-leading LiDAR high-tech system for the accurate and instant measuring of material quantities in stockpiles. The volume monitoring solution is ideal for use in quarries, recycling facilities, port, bulk handling, and waste applications, where it provides a fast, reliable, and cost-effective way to monitor stock levels and optimize supply chain management.

Using advanced LiDAR technology, Blickfeld's mapping system can quickly and accurately measure the volume and density of materials in stockpiles, providing valuable insights into stock levels and enabling businesses to make more informed decisions about inventory management. This cutting-edge technology allows companies to save time and money by streamlining the surveying process and reducing the need for manual measurements and inspections.

‘We are thrilled to be appointed as the official UK and Ireland partners for Blickfeld’s LiDAR solutions, which we believe will be a game-changer for businesses across a range of industries,’ said Allan Kane, managing director of Quvo. ‘Our system offers a high level of accuracy and precision, as well as a fast and efficient way to measure material quantities in real-time. This means that businesses can quickly and accurately keep track of material stockpiles helping to drive efficiency and reduce costs.’

Blickfled's mapping system uses a continuous process of 3D scanning and highly advanced software to constantly calculate the volume of a stockpile. The constant recording of the material allows instantaneous adjustments to the volume of the stockpile should material be added or removed with the data visible online in real-time, or available on demand.

Quvo have already installed three LiDAR systems for well-known and respected Scottish clients handling a variety of waste materials. All three companies are reporting instant gains from using the system, which not only gives the users logistical improvements, but also adds an extra level of compliance and insurance benefits.

Both Levenseat and Cireco, two of the first customers to add the technology, have since placed multiple orders for additional systems to help them accurately manage their operations.
