Asphalt – What's around the corner?

One-day conference in Nottingham on forthcoming developments and issues for the use of asphalt

ORGANIZED by SCI’s Construction Materials Group and Nottingham Asphalt Research Consortium (NARC), this one-day event on Thursday 20 March 2014 at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, will focus on forthcoming developments and issues for the use of asphalt to meet ever-increasing demands for performance, value and sustainability.

The event will provide an insight into market developments, current research programmes and issues likely to affect policy and practice in the operation of asphalt roads in the near future. The day will include presentations from representatives of highway authority clients, material suppliers and academics actively engaged in research and its application to give a wide perspective on both the opportunities and the challenges around the corner for the design, production, placing and maintenance of asphalt on the highway network.

The theme of the event has been selected to draw together those in commercial practice and those actively engaged in scientific development within the asphalt industry to promote discussion and sharing of knowledge, thoughts and ideas.

The event will be of interest to those who specialize in asphalt technology through research, development and commercial practice, such as highway and port authorities, engineering consultants, university engineering departments, asphalt suppliers and contractors.
