Ammann restructure UK and Ireland activities

Company separates Ammann Equipment Ltd business lines in move to strengthen market position

THE Ammann Group has announced the separation of the plant and machine business of Ammann Equipment Ltd in the UK and Ireland markets.

The asphalt mixing plant business has been transferred to the existing subsidiary Ammann UK Ltd and the machine business has been sold, in a share deal, to A Y Equipment Ltd by way of a management buyout and retroactively as of 1 October 2013.

Ammann say this step will serve to strengthen the Group’s position in one of the most important European market regions.

A Y Equipment Ltd are the newly appointed Ammann dealers for the entire range of Ammann compacting products, including sales, maintenance and spare parts services for the UK and Ireland markets. Moreover, this company will continue to provide the full Yanmar line of products and third-party products.

As part of the management buyout, the experienced machines team led by Robert Brown, managing director and co-investor in A Y Equipment Ltd, will stay with the machine business, thereby ensuring a smooth and seamless transition.

In the asphalt mixing plant business, Ammann will continue to rely on the experienced and successful team directed by Ammann UK Ltd’s designated managing director, Malcolm Apperley (former business development manager at Ammann Equipment Ltd).

Mr Apperley’s team is fully committed to further strengthening the company’s market position in the UK and Ireland, and will continue to provide all sales and after-sales activities in these markets.

Both Ammann UK Ltd and A Y Equipment Ltd will continue to provide their services from the firm’s existing location in Warwickshire.

There are no changes to the asphalt pavers business, where Ammann will continue to work with well-established dealer partners Pavemac, in Wimblington, Cambridgeshire, to market their range of pavers in the aforementioned markets.
