Strategic Planning Manager (Estates)

We are currently looking for a Strategic Planning Manager to join our team. This role will offer hybrid working including travel to our Tunstead site in Buxton and our Quorn House site in Loughborough.

Main Responsibilities

In the role of Strategic Planning Manager, you will be part of the Midlands Regional Strategic Planning team delivering the objectives of the Land and Natural Resources Strategic Planning Charter through the Find, Secure and Develop element of the property life cycle. 

You will be involved in ensuring that long-term mineral continuity is planned and secured and that the required industrial footprint is delivered to ensure the Materials, Cement and Building Products Business Units are sustained and developed. 

The Strategic Planning Manager will also be responsible for maximising Tarmac’s land and mineral portfolio value through the development of assets through this stage of the life cycle.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Strategic Planning Manager will be Qualified to degree level in a cognate degree and/or Chartered through the relevant professional bodies and have experience of:

  • Successfully securing land and mineral interests through Option, Lease or Freehold acquisition

  • Delivering mineral and industrial planning projects for new and extensions to existing sites

  • Applications for and management of L&NR Capital projects/budgets

  • Mineral planning and related policies relating to the supply of aggregates

  • Landlord & Tenant and Planning legislation relating to mineral/waste and industrial property

  • Financial Drivers for the Business as a whole

  • Representing the Business on external Stakeholder groups and developing strong relationships with external Stakeholders

  • Strong communication and management skills supported by comprehensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of minerals and related industrial development.
