Midland Quarry Products (MQP) is a highly successful Joint Venture Company between Tarmac and Hanson UK. Operating predominantly across the East & West Midlands, MQP is a significant business within the drystone and asphalt sectors.

MQP’s flagship site, Cliffe Hill Quarry is one of the UK’s largest hardstone quarry’s in the UK producing up to 4.5 million tonnes per annum. This role reports to the Operations Director and has responsibility for blasting, load & haul and processing operations. This is an 8.1c appointment with responsibility for all statutory compliance as well as delivering the management of a safe, efficient and cost effective quarry.

Having valued, engaged employees is core to MQP’s strategy and this is one of the major challenges of this line management role. Another key challenge is managing the transition of the load & haul drivers from contractors to MQP Employees to ensure we get the most efficient operational benefits.
